Riikka Salminen

We celebrated the purchase and installation of a large-scale painting by artist Riikka Salminen this spring. The decision to give the painting a place of honor in our workspaces was based on the feeling by many that it “represented a collective self-portrait”.
Riikka Salminen attended The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and has studied painting there. The large-scale self-portait acquired by hasan & partners is from a series that deals with the value and often unexamined complexities of human aggression.
The artist writes:
“My continuing interest in the concept of aggression partly has to do with the importance of challenging expectations and conventions, especially when it comes to the creative process.”
